The elephant, the foundation stone...

Elephants are enormous animals that have strength way beyond a handful of men put together. If you didn't realise, elephants have played an important role in certain religions even today. From what I've seen and read, the Thais love these humble creatures. That's why when you go to Thailand, you'll see elephants almost everywhere. If I'm not wrong, Hinduism also regards the elphant as sacred. In Chinese mythology, elephants have supporting qualities. You can see for yourself how stable and strong an elephant can be. It is also said that if you put a figurine of an elephant in a bedroom, it will help couples conceive a child better. This is especially so for couples who are trying hard to conceive a child. And when you have an elephant with its trunk raised high, like in the picture, it is meant to give support. Many Thai families like to put statues of elephants outside their homes for protection as well as stability. These elephants are usually depicted with their trunks above their heads. So if you're looking for a huge bodyguard for your home, you know who to call...
